Dish tools

I'm looking for comments from users with experience on dish alignment tools, like the Handymeter from Dawn Satellite, the Birdog, pico sat, sathawk, etc. toys that help identify satellites and set up the dish for signal strength, polarity, etc.

I'd especially like to hear comparisons between using some thing like the Birdog in place of a spectrum analyzer to set LNB polarity.
