Dishanywhere: how to delete all of a recorded series?

How can I delete all of a recorded series in Dishanywhere faster than deleting each individual episode? I.e., I have say 32 episodes of Gunsmoke recorded - how can I just delete the entire series rather than painfully deleting each episode?

Thanks.

From the Hopper you can. Just bring up the DVR recordings and move to the highlighter to the box (groups of shows) and then press the blue button. Of course, that is with the wonderful 40 remote. I just this week got my talking one and am not sure how it is done with that remote. I also don't know how to do it from Dish Anywhere, so...this is probably a useless post to you.

Go to DVR, go to the folder with the series recording, press options, select all/Delete

Yeah, no problem with the Hopper itself and my wonderful 40 remote. My issue is trying to do it remotely from Dishanywhere; I can't see a way to delete more than one program at a time (and it's slow and clunky.)

Hello docdaddy. At this time, there is not an option to delete an entire series or multiple recordings at the same time. I will be happy to forward feedback to our Engineers about making this an available option in the future. -Jasmine D.

Just curious, how do you even see all the episodes you have recorded? I haven't been able to see them on the new version. The old version would show a list, but the new version only lets me play the most recently recorded episode. Below that is a listing of future airings from the guide, and then below that is a season dial which shows all the episodes of the season and not just my recorded episodes.

Is mine bugged out or am I just completely missing how to see all of the recordings? The main DVR folder shows accurate counts of how many recorded episodes I have, but when you click on them only the most recent one is available.

Hey there, Juncti! Are you accessing your Dish Anywhere folder from the website or the App? -- Sam F

From the website on Chrome. I attached screenshots of what I see. DVR shows I have 3 episodes recorded. Clicking into it, I'm only shown the most recent at the top. Which if I'm watching a series I don't want to see the most recent, I want to see the next one from where I left off.

Below that is the guide section which appears to be any future airings found in the guide. Then a season section which starts sometimes from the first episode of this season like in the picture, other series that have lots of seasons it might start at season 1 despite being season 13.

Then I get cast and recommendations below all that.

So not sure if I'm dealing with a bug or just missing something at this point.

Thanks

Thank you for the screenshots, they really helped! This is correct and we understand that the new format on the website may not work best for you. At this time there is no way to alter this or revert back to the original format. I will however, submit feedback on this so we can do better in the future for you. -- Sam F

If you look at your first photo the grouping 2 down from the current episode is the entire season. If there are many seasons you may want to click on the season dropdown and go to the season you are interested in. So, let's say you had watched Episode 2 last and you want to continue with episode 3. You go down to where it says episode 3 and click play. You will then watch episode 3. The past episodes will come to you streamed rather than off of your receiver I believe. You are not missing anything here you uust need to understand how it is set up.

When you go to a folder, top right is "episodes" that will show all.

There is no episodes anywhere on that page.

That's great if I know which specific episode I'm watching, but sometimes episodes are just names, other times they're numbers, shouldn't matter if it would just show me a list of my recordings. I would just click the oldest and go like I used to.

It's even worse if it's an older show and you're recording all episodes, you might have episodes from 10 different season on the DVR, and if you're just trying to catch up and delete episodes as you go there's no way of finding the specific episodes you have stored.

Seems like a pretty critical DVR function, being able to view recordings and stream those.

I am having trouble understanding your complaint. My niece has decided she wants to watch The Closer (running on Lifetime now :biggrin ) so I just went and checked Dish Anywhere on my Chromebox (had to do the Logout/Login routine to "reconnect") and it showed 21 episodes recorded. Clicking on "Season Six", it puts all Icons in a row and if you put your mouse over one, it gives you year, episode number and title. Example:
S6 E13: Living Proof: Part OnePart 1 of 2. The team's holiday plans are potentially ruined when a long-standing feud results in a stabbing on Christmas Eve and the death of a patriar...
That seems to me to be quite informative.

It seems odd that the new version wouldn't be capable of doing what the previous version could. The app on my phone still has this feature as well. You can see DVR, Guide, and On Demand separately and resume episodes in progress.

Sure if I want to specifically watch something like that, but I'm usually seasons behind playing catch up, or it's news shows like 48 hours which don't really have seasons and often don't have much description. Also if I've already started watching an episode now I can't resume where I was. Some shows don't have all seasons available, if I'm a season behind and all that's available on demand is current season, I can't watch even though the recordings are on my DVR.

Just seems if you click on My Recordings, one of the options should be to see my recordings.

I just loaded up the app and it separates DVR recordings, future showings, and on demand. I can see all my recorded episodes as well as resume any of them in progress. I used to be able to do that on the computer via dishanyhere. I no longer can.

You have to "select" the word Episodes up top, to the right of Summary. Then, on the right side, will appear the episodes.

That doesn't exist on the page, anywhere.

The recall button on the 54 remote will delete folders and individual recordings from the DVR.

Sorry, I want to make sure the original poster's point is clear, because the exact same thing is happening to me.

I don't think this a case of "new format issue that may not work best" for people, rather it's an actual bug in the website. When I try to access recordings from the dishanywhere website, it only lets me play the most recent recording, and I can't access any earlier recordings. What's the point of allowing multiple recordings if you can only ever see the latest one?

This is a bug. Can we escalate it to the engineers so it can be fixed?

bortery, are you only seeing one episode only listed when you click on a show or are you seeing for example the latest season you have recorded, then the last 3 episodes?

Through the DISH Anywhere website, you should see multiple recording/multiple seasons. The first section you will see is the Guide information. Second section below that, you will see "Season 8" of a show, for example. If you click on "Season 8", you will see all previous seasons you have recorded. In addition, there will be an arrow left and right where you can move through the season.

When you click where it says the season, are you missing all the others you have recorded? What browser are you using? -Christina W.

I believe they're dealing with the same issue as me. The only recorded episode available to watch is the most recently recorded episode. Any other episodes that appear seem to be on demand, and if the other recorded episodes are not available on demand then you can't watch them despite them being on the DVR.

It doesn't seem out of the realm of expectations that when you go to My Recordings you should be able to view your recordings. The app on my phone and tablet (as of now) still have the ability to see a list of recordings as well as the ability to resume any in progress.

Here's a screenshot of the same show, one on the app, and one on the computer via Chrome browser. It's a news show and not all airings have descriptions, some are just generic with no season or episode number. On the app I can click the one I was watching, and click resume to continue it. On the web I can only watch the most recent episode, or whatever is available on demand.
