Old thread I know. I have been an Apple user for a long time but have never had an Apple Watch. My second Fitbit bit the dust this week and I am tired of having to get one every year. Looking at a series 10. First thing is going with the Aluminum case because I don't want have to pay the extra $$$ for the Titanium one. So it is $30 to go from the 42mm face to the $46mm face. Doesn't appear to be big difference for $30. Opinions.

The band. Thinking the rubber one as I am outside working (sweating) a lot but recommendations are welcome for the other type of bands.

Basically how do they hold up working in them like mowing, weed eating, carpentry etc? I get dirty a lot.
I have the smaller size. Next one will be the larger, easier to see.

If your phone is with you all the time, no need for the cellular. Cost depends on your carrier. If you have the US Mobile Premium Unlimited, adding watch is free. Lesser US Mobile Plan, the watch cost $6.50 month, including Tax. Verizon postpaid was $15 + Tax month. I think ATT is $10 + Tax. All depends on your carrier, some don't even offer it.

I wear the Sport Loop bands, just throw them in with the laundry ever couple of weeks if they get sweaty smelling. You can experiment with lot's of different bands on Amazon, they are cheap.

For what it's worth, check the price on Walmart before you buy. They have had some great prices in the past on the current model AW and the SE also. My first AW was an SE, then I bought an AW8. Both are great watches. Do a comparison on Apple's website. You may find that the SE will do everything you want.

Yeah I have AT&T prepaid and I am not sure you can add it to that but realistically I don't think I need the cellular at all. The larger face seems to be the best fit for me. I don't have the greatest eye sight so bigger is probably better.

I did compare the SE and while I like the price better I want more functions than it has. Buying direct from Apple I can get a 10% veteran discount. I found one on Amazon that was actually less than buying from Apple with my discount but it only had the option of the Textile band and didn't have the option of the XL size band and I prefer the rubber band. I will compare it to what Walmart has though. Thanks for the info.

Just saw a lady with her watch glowing. Squarish. Never turned off.

Is that an Apple Watch feature or option? Some other brand?

I have the 42mm, my wrist is smaller, the 46mm seemed too big to me.
I went ahead and bought the 46mm and you are right. I should have got the 42mm but I can live with it. Because of their band sizing recommendations I bought the XL band too and that was a mistake. The M-L would have been adequate. I may have to do some surgery on the band because I am not paying Apple $49 for the smaller band.

Always On lasted about a day for me because of the battery usage. Even with it off I still have to charge it daily or the sleep study doesn't work while sleeping if it falls to 30%. My old Fitbit had to be charged about every 10 days but the Apple Watch has about a zillion more things on it than the Fitbit did.

I charge mine every night. It is usually around 40%. I actually picked up a Fitbit Charge for sleep tracking but I forget to put it on many nights.

Do you not do the sleep stuff on the Apple Watch because you don't want to sleep with it on and/or that is when it is charging? Or you don't like the sleep monitoring on the Apple Watch. I did like the sleep feature on my Fitbit Charge 5.

The Fitbit Charge is much smaller and lighter, don't really like sleeping with Apple Watch on. And I always charge it overnight.

I've been wearing mine while sleeping since I got it. I charge it up before going to bed, and find it lasts until the next evening. Yesterday, though, I charged it before our party, so I wouldn't run out while we were out.

Are you planning to upgrade to the iPhone 16

Anyone getting the Z fold 7
