DishAnywhere Questions?

So I finally got my sling adapter connected to my Hopper and was not able to get it to work to a PC running XP with either Chrome or IE. Called dish and they said it's a known issue that they will call me back.

I have another PC where I got everything to work but this machine is Windows 7 with Chrome.

According to this page XP is supported

anyone has dishanywhere working on XP?

Also what is the difference between the apps available in the Google Playstore? I see 3

vs
Sling for Phones App/Sling for Tablets App

What can not be done with the Dish Anywhere App that can be done with the sling apps? I tried to find a table with differences but could not fin one.

I don't mind paying the 15 bucks they want for the the app if it enhances my tv watching on the go. But I want to understand the differences before hand

I think the $15 app only works on standalone Slingboxen, so you do NOT want to buy that.
