I cannot listen to their customer support anymore. Earlier they told me i wasnt allowed to order the HMC because i didnt have a samsung TV. I tried to explain to them that the Samsung thing is for boxless programming, they didnt want to hear it.

I dont have a phone line, nor do i want one. Do i need to have one to get the DVR to work properly? I know about the PPV ordering needing to be done onilne instead of on the remote. Other than that, is there any other reason to have a phone line?

I also do not have a phone line and my boxes are, obviously, not hooked to it and everything works fine. Just to the internet, like Iceberg said. And we have ordered PPV with the remote, too.

Don't hook Ethernet straight to back of rcvr if you plan to use whole home DVr. If you only have one rcvr then it doesnt matter.

Internet or phone isn't needed for whole home.

Phone line is only needed for caller ID and ppv w/ the remote.

Internet is needed for VOD and apps.
