If I cancel my T.V. service with cablevision, and keep their internet service, do you still get basic cable channels if I split the cable for the internet?

There is a "lifeline basic" tier (not to be confused with "basic cable") that normally runs about $10 a month which provides your local channels and a few others if you want. But you do not get any video programming unless you pay for it.

From Comcast, if you don't have Cable TV, Cable Broadband costs about $12 more per month - the same price as the lifeline package. Thus, I have basic cable and broadband internet for $56/month.

Switched to dish last week, and they came out and put the video thing on so I can't receive T.V. My bill only went up $5 per month though, so I am happy.
