Does DirecTV use TCP?

Ill make this question a little more straight forward.

Does DirecTV use TCP to connect to its media? How is this configured?

I was aware of it transmitting a Ka band frequency (Ka band - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia). Or does DirecTV only use DTH... and again how is that configured?
