I live in Louisville, Ky. According to the web site, my HD locals are available to me. But they were not coming in. I called tech support.

They said I had to have a different dish to receive them and I qualified for a free upgrade. That was all that was said. The appointment was for today for the work.

The tech comes and tells me I have to sign another 2 year agreement for the dish. I do not get it. I already pay for the Gold HD package and for my locals. Why do I need to sign another contract to get the dish so I can get the channels I pay for?

If your account is in good order you shouldn't be required to extend your commitment.

Depending on your account status, they may charge an installation fee (that may be waived if you commit).

In the past it has been $60 for no commitment or free with an extended commitment. Some report having negotiated better deals. I guess you could put up a wing dish for 77W yourself or if you have all mpeg4 receivers, a 1000.4 for all the eastern arc satellites, but for $60 I'd have E* do it.
