Does type of coax matter for modem?

I recently had to unhook my cable modem for some remodeling. And when I started to hook it back up I noticed the connector was loose on the coax. I found a 6' piece of coax that I've had laying around but I noticed its RG59. I hooked it up and it's working. But I'm wondering if I'll get better performance if I change it out to RG6? Does anyone know if it makes a difference?

That little a distance I don't think it will matter but replacing it with a new RG6 segment is cheap enough. RG59 is generally better than people give it credit for but it primarily is compared at longer distances than 6 feet to RG6.
