Can someone tell me if it's possible to download recorded movies from an Adelphia SA Explorer 8000 HD DVR (so they can be burned onto a DVD)? If so, how? Thanks

That box should have a set of analog composite outputs if anything. They would have to be run into either a graphics card that has those input capabilities or a analog/digital converter. My converter is actually a Sony Digital8 Handycam that has one built in. The footage gets sent to my computer via Firewire from the camera.

I've done several the way that ProSat2 describes. It is of course pulled down to 480i and not in HD if that is a concern.

I use an ATI HDWonder card in the PC to capture. I could also do it via my Sony camcorder but I don't think there would be an appreciable difference in quality.
