I was having trouble with my 625's on screen guide again. "no info" beyond the current hour.Third time in seven months.I tried all the the usual fixes ,unplug the receiver, and so on.. I called Dish after a few attempts to fix the problem, I was told that I needed a new DVR. All it was going to cost me was 14.95 for shipping. This morning the guide was back to normal.
My question are do I really need a new DVR and when was the shipping fee imposed? I had replacments befor and never was charged. I thougth thats what the leased receiver fee was for?

To me look at it this way, pay 14.99 and avoid scheduling problems on your DVR when you least expect
or if you dont use your dvr just keep it aslong as you can view channels and have the signal correct

heck if you speak with an account specialist you may even get a better deal on another DVR model

Well if you have an HDTV you should say it when you call chances are a 622 or a 722k might be in your mailbox
Just dont rush and call them plan what you are going to say and they will help you out, be polite, and you should be set, remember dont speak to just anyone ask to be transferred to an account specialist for very possitive results.
Good Luck and tell us how it went

Personally, I don't think 3 times in 7 months is a serious enough problem for me to lose the recordings on my DVR. Especially since 99% of the time a simple 'check switch' will solve it.

Did you try that?
