Satellites Under Construction

EchoStar XXV.
On March 20, 2023, we entered into a contract with Lanteris Space LLC for the construction of EchoStar XXV, a DBS satellite that is capable of providing service to the continental United States ("CONUS") and is intended to be used at the 110 degree orbital location. During the fourth quarter of 2023, we entered into an agreement with SpaceX for launch services for this satellite, which is expected to be launched during 2026.

EchoStar XXVI. On May 15, 2025, we entered into a contract with Lanteris Space LLC for the construction of EchoStar XXVI, a DBS satellite that is capable of providing service to the CONUS and is intended to be used at the 119 degree orbital location. During the third quarter of 2025, we entered into an agreement with SpaceX for launch services for this satellite, which is expected to be launched during 2028.

I am confused on this - wasn't there a satellite that was supposed to give 110 a lot of spotbeams, not a CONUS satellite. Is there a 3rd satellite not listed?

And if this satellite (or any others) also serves HI, AK, PR, or USVI, which E* DOES currently serve now, then saying it's "serving the CONUS" is technically not 100% accurate, either... ;)
Those areas are not Continental US. But because the new sat will be all spots they would be served by it anyway.

AK is on the North American continent, but conus has long been understood (usually) to be just the 48. Some conus coverages have taken in AK or part thereof.

Lanteris Space bought/merged with Maxar which bought/merged with Loral for those of you who have followed the history of Dish satellite builders.
