Echostar 61.5 in Newfoundland ?

Hi ,

I live in a small island located south of Newfoundland (46.6 North latitude,56.1 West longitude) and get Echostar 119 very well with a 4 foot dish.

I would like to get 61.5 and I imagine it would take a 6 foot Dish.(It`s just a guess as I don`t know).

Does anybody out there could enlighten me about that ?

I do not know, but I would think you could get 61.5 easier and possibly with a smaller dish then what you now do for 119 because the 61.5 satellite is farther East. Others here more knowledgeable then me though could probably give you a better answer.

:up Higher satellite number means it's more to the West.

a 24' inch dish should be more then enough for you and the satellite being that far east.

From this web site, http://perso.numericable.fr/~gjullien/satellite.htm it looks like your azimuth would be at 187.4, about 7 degrees west of due south, with an elevation of 36.14 degrees.

I realize the position of the satellite is good for my location, it`s just that the footprint does not seem to go thar far up north , which would mean bigger dish.

I don't know how tight the footprint is for Rainbow 1. But E*3 will spill pretty well into Newfoundland
