If a satellite could be influenced by a magnetic field it would probably be influenced by solar storms and the reaction Earth's magnetic field had in response to those storms. Plus, satellites use lighter metals than iron and other ferromagnetic alloys.

You may be right that the Sun will eventually take care of our space junk, but my money is on a Red Giant expansion instead of a Nova explosion. You can collect if I'm wrong... :D
