Hello all. I've searched the forum and was unable to find anyone with the issue that I currently have. Sorry if this is a double post.

I just recently purchased Dish Network and I'm having some remote issues. The remote I have is the;

20.0 IR
EchoStar Technologies L.L.C.
155681

My set us is;

TV - Vizio - VO370M
Surround Sound - RCA - RT2760

Problem:

Before I switched to Dish I had DirecTv. I could use their remote with my old tv and my RCA sound system flawlessly. Now that I've made the change to Dish and purchased the new TV I just can't seem to get things back in order.

The remote will turn my TV on and OFF, adjust the volume, and change channels. It will not access the input function to switch between HDMI, Componet, AV, etc.

Also the remote will not control my RCA unit at all. The only thing that I would like for it to do is just adjust the volume. I've read that it can be set up this way but I just cannot get the remote to control any of my other devices.

I've read the codes in the back of my Dish Network user guide with no luck. I've also tried to do the code scan feature and I've went through all of the codes available. Am I just doomed to using 3 remotes or having to purchase a 3rd party universal?

Sorry for the long post and thanks for any feedback.

To Search for your HDTV program code scan do these steps...

1. Turn the device on

2. Press and hold the mode button until all the other
mode buttons light up, and then let go of the button
The mode button flashes

3. For AUX mode only Press 0 for a second TV, or 1 for a second
VCR, or 2 for a tuner, or amplifier Then press the STAR (*) button

4. Press POWER

5. Press the UP or Down ARROW repeatedly until the device
turns off (The Up or Down arrows are right below the AUX Button and says (page) right above the arrow buttons)

6. Press POUND (#)

7. Turn the device back on and try some other buttons to
make sure they work

8. If necessary, repeat this procedure until
you've tries all the codes.

The 20.0 Ir remote is a learning remote, the instuctions are in your manual. The only thing you need to be aware of is you must learn ALL the buttons for a device in one session. you cannot quit and then learn more later you'll have to start all over.

I've tried the information listed above when reading through the manual. It would turn off my TV. When saving that code the INPUT button still didn't work.

Also when trying for the RT2760 it never turned it off. Could it be possible that the remote will simply not work for the RCA RT2760? I don't remember having this type of problem with my DirecTV remote.

Again thanks for all of the above posts.

^^^ = +10

That allowed me to program my input button so all is good with my TV now! Thanks!

I tried the same process to program my Vol Up & down keys to the Vol up and down (Via my old driectv remote) The TV Mode light blinked once (for successful) but it won't adjust the volume. I tried to use my DTV remote and it DOES still adjust the Surround sound.

I'm ALMOST there!! Thanks for the help guys

Sorry to double post!

I was able to get the Vol ^ and V to work and the Mute button for my RCA surround sound using the above method.

I'm having one final issue. The DTV remote is really responsive when pressing the VOL ^ and V but the Dish Network remote only works when really close to the device, and only sometimes does it work that close. Is this something that I will be able to fix? After trying it with the Dishnetwork remote I moved across the room and the DTV remote would still adjust the volume so I'm pretty sure it's not the device.

Thanks

UPDATE: I just got it working. I guess some how when it was learning the code from my DTV remote it bugged. But all it working fine now.

Thanks all for the support!!
