Recently my 722 died, which Dish promptly replaced. When I got around to hooking up the EHD that I had been using on the old 722, I got an error code and a message that the receiver needs to format the drive in order for it to work (or words to that effect).
I then tried a different drive that I had also been using on the other 722 and got the same message. Not wanting to lose my movies, I called Dish Tech Support, who was just as confused why I was getting this message. They gave me 3 months of movie channels to try to re-record some of the shows that I'm going to lose, but I really don't want to wipe the drives.
Am I missing something? Does anybody know of any work-arounds to get the drive and receiver to play nice??
