Email back from CSN-Chicago

I sent an email to Comcast Sports Net Chicago about HD for Dish. I said that I noticed dish had turned on some RSNs in HD and I was wondering if CSN would be added soon. This was his reply..

Thank you for your inquiry regarding Comcast SportsNet in HD.
Dish Network is in discussion with Comcast SportsNet and other networks to bring more HD programming to their customers.
I don't have any direct knowledge as to the status of such discussions, but we hope to be able to offer you HD home games on Comcast SportsNet very soon

That is a classic form letter that comcast sends to people like us who expect better hd service. thanks for asking the question to the csr, but my guess is that we will go another season without csnhd.

I, too, sent an email to CSN about HD. Here is my email followed by their response back:

Hello,

I am a Dish Network customer and was wondering if you had any information as
to when/if CSN would be available in HD on Dish Network.

I understand the holdup is likely on the Dish Network end. I was curious to
see if you had any more information as Dish Network is often very vague and
generic with their answers, i.e., "We hope to add this channel to our lineup
very soon."

I can't specifically say where there's a hold up, or if there is one. I know
that there is interest to increase distribution of HD programming on the part of
program producers and their distributors, but I don't have an answer for you as
to when you'll see Comcast SportsNet games in HD on Dish Network.. I think
communicating what you want to see will help us all stay focused on being
responsive to your interests and needs.
Lets hope we can bring you Comcast SportsNet HD (home) baseball games very soon!

Sounds like a generic response back. At least it was different than the one back to the OP. I also took notice how she specifically mentioned baseball--I didn't. The Chicago Bulls still have some games left too. I'm guessing they get quite a few "I want my Cubs/White Sox in HD" emails from E* customers.
