Something just broke with the embedded YouTube player on the Site. Attempting to play a video now brings up a "Sign in to confirm you're not a bot" message and no way to sign in or find out more.

This is on my Gen 9 iPad with iPadOS 18.0 running Safari.

I was on a different forum and was able to play an Embedded YouTube video just fine, so it may be a timing issue, like you said.

Well, today this problem popped up for me again, and I was able to make this go away by firing up the YouTube app on my iPad which I am signed into as me. The "prove you're not a bot" message stopped.

Actually I saw an article somewhere yesterday about it, its YouTube doing that for some embeded links.

I guess they would rather you watch things on their site where they get all the ad revenue.

But, if I can watch it here, there are no Ads. Why would I want Ads?

And, BTW, when you go to Share a YouTube video on your phone by copying the link, it will tag it with a unique identifier:
HTML:
https://youtu.be/dSHNutfUHSw?si=iIq8CnrF41Em6QpH
(The ?si= introduces a unique identifier that lets YouTube know you shared a video from a mobile YouTube App. So, remove it when you Paste the link to remain anonymous.)

Also, FYI, if you share media via the XenForo Media icon in the tool bar,

(this Media icon will be located in a different location depending on your SatelliteGuys navigation method)

It also removes the ?si= data in addition to creating a [ MEDIA ] tag. This leaves off the YouTube hyperlink from beneath the video, too.
