Epixnow streaming subscription now live!

Won't catch on very fast when the app isn't compatible with anything but my phone.

Did you not note that it is also on the AppleTV? Here's a quote from one of the articles about it:
"The app is available for download today in the App store for iPhone, iPad and Apple TV and in Google Play for Android phones and tablets. It will also be coming soon to Roku® devices and Amazon Fire TV. The service will continue rolling out across additional devices over the course of the year."

Fair point. But considering how long it took Epix to come out with a subscription service at all I'm not surprised. I would have thought that AppleTV, Roku and FireTV would have been first out of the gate as they are the biggest sellers but maybe they thought that the younger crowd mostly watches on phones and tablets as some articles have indicated.

Hopefully they will be quick about releasing apps for other devices sooner than later. I spent some time last night with it. Most shows are at least HD and some movies are in 4K, didn't notice any of their original series in 4K though. The PQ was really good, the GUI is not horrible though I think it could be better. Sound seemed to be 5.1, no Atmos indicated.

EPIX is available through The Roku Channel now as well on Roku devices, same price $5.99/mo. STARZ & Showtime can also be subscribed through the Roku Channel.
I’m sure the standalone EPIX Now will launch pretty soon on the Roku, but this is another workaround until then.

Read an article that mentioned Epic was the final premium movie service to offer stand-alone service.
Correction. Seems audio I’d stereo, hopefully that will change soon too.

That's not good. A big part of the movie experience, for me anyway is the punch you get from Dolby 5.1.

Since they are doing 4K in their new stand along service how come they dont offer 4K in their partnered service via VOD? (such as through their Roku app?)
