Hi guys,
I recently started getting this error on channels like AMC. I have the HR44/700 receiver, and a Slimline-5S dish. I have a SWM power inverter.

I recently rearranged the living room, and I suspect that might be the problem. I didn't unplug the SWM, but I did move the receiver. The "Signal to IRD" cable wouldn't reach anymore, so I replaced it with a longer cable. The "Power to SWM" cable hasn't changed. There's also a tree that's been growing over the years and could possibly be interfering. I'd like to find out which of these is the most likely problem, and if it's the tree, if I could realign it myself.

Here are the readings for the signal meters:

Your signal strengths are terribly low. Just to give you an idea, your 99ca/cb/103ca/cb signals should all be in the high 80s at least. Most of your 101/119 signals should be in the high 90s, maybe even 100 (some are spotbeams not pointed at you and might be low or even zero).
Yes, this could be a tree problem. But your dish might just be misaligned.
Cable problem - least likely, but you could have a really bad connector.

Can I realign my dish on my own? How can I test to see if it's an alignment issue? Or do I need to call a tech? (I hate hate hate phone calls)

:welcome to Satelliteguys Uberpippi!

If you have a smartphone then download Satellite AR. It will give you a good idea where the satellites are in the sky which should determine if you have a line of sight issue (trees in the way). Check all of your connections and cables to be sure they are in good shape. If everything checks out, then we can help you will trying to realign the dish.

if you havent had an issue for a while you might be able to get them to waive it if you put up a big stink, or if you have the protection plan its free anyway. unfortunatly the genie's dont have the same options to help you get the dish aligned as the non-genie's do. it would probably be quite difficult to get it aligned yourself.
