Why do links to ESPN's website show up as a video?

Through experimentation, I've found that if you uncheck "Automatically embed media (requires automatic parsing of links in text to be on)." under Miscellaneous Options down below, the link posts normally, like this:

Frustrated Randy Moss feeling 'not wanted' by New England Patriots - ESPN Boston
