ESPN News Packages?

If this does change, I find that interesting because Dish's contract with Disney is up later this year. It would seem strange for any Disney owned channels to change packages now withouth a new contract. And if there was a new Dish/Disney contract, there would be a press release about it.

only when they use it to show the start of a game that is being delayed on ESPN or 2 because other games ran long. Outside of that, I never watch it.
I remember when I first got Dish and ESPN News was added - I loved it because it had the completely different color scheme with the blue and how it was stats based on the ticker more than just stories. Had a different feel than the other ESPN's, and there was something about those different shows and stats perspective that made it worth the money.

Now a days...as you said, it is just an overflow when games go long, are delayed, or for the fans of some smaller random college games that occur in the fall or winter.

Another in a long line of channels that blew up their nominal formatting. On The Learning Channel, you can now learn about getting hitched in 3 months

...and on the "Science" channel you can learn all about ghosts & monsters.
Watch Lethal Weapon on Sundance!
America's dumbest and richest Housewives on Bravo! (funny, I never watched Bravo! WAAAAAAAY back in the day because I didn't like watching ballet. Then I never watched it because I didn't like trash television.)
See My Seven Ox Wives on The Learning Channel.
Watch The Fakumentury on Mermaids on The Science Channel.

It really is too bad this didn't happen to channels like TBN.
Up next on TBN at 8 PM, Speaking with the Lord Satan.

Cartoon Network and TCM are the only niche channels that survived the dumbening of niche channels. Of course, there are probably people that are old enough to drive, vote, drink (?) that were never alive when TLC was The Learning Channel.
