ESPN sues Verizon

Also, sling/dish negotiated these rights before hand. Verizon did not, and just basically interpreted the existing contract in a different way.
 
From what I had read I think there are two points that ESPN has against Verizon. One, that ESPN has to be in the base package. And I am not sure on the second but I also think that ESPN2 also has to be there. Sling TV satisfies both of those requirements so its no unique at all. And I don't think Dish did what Verizon did and was all "yeah we can do this" and go and offer Streaming TV. It was all set up in contract negotiations which was really smart when they closed the ABC and Turner deals.

Yes there is a sports add-on but I think those are the channels that ABC has allowed to be outside of the base package.
