In order to get dish family do I need a dish 500 or 1000? It appears that programming is available on 4 satellites, 110, 119, 129 and 61.5

If you are a new customer just order it and they will install the correct equipment for your location.

I don't think you got to worry about the 129 or 61.5 with the Family pack.Thats for HD channels ,Unless for some slim chance your SD local happen to be on one of those satellites. You can't have HD with the family pack. Top 100 or higher only! Dish 500 is all you need otherwise.

Sky Angel(3 angels broadcastin network) is on 119 and Alma Vision is a Public Interest Channel. You only get PI channels free if you have a dish pointed at the satellite they broadcast off, If you want Alma Vision you need to subscribe to a service that broadcasts off 129/61.5 or pay for an extra dish aimed at one of those satellites.
