The GEOSATpro microHD uses three types of files to operate: 1. Allcode, 2. User Database and 3. Default Database. Each file type is unique and contributes to the operation and the customized experience for the user. These file extension types are used with many different set-top boxes, but are rarely interchangeable.

Warning: Users should exercise great caution when loading files from a different receiver brand / model or files of unknown origin or distribution. Loading an incorrect file or a modified file may disable your microHD. If this is the first time with modifying, editing or loading a file to your microHD, please read the sticky threads and view the step by step guides and videos, If you have any questions about how or what to load, ask before trying!

Allcode .abs file extension: This is the firmware that instructs the microHD receiver how to operate. .abs extensions are only used for firmware updating the microHD and also includes a default database and blank user database. Users should not edit and load modified .abs files as these file types can easily disable your microHD. Firmware files may be downloaded via satellite OTA-SSU on Galaxy 19 KU band, transponder 12115, PID 330) or saved to / loaded from USB port or TTY/USB serial cable.
Only load firmware .abs files created and distributed by GEOSATpro for your microHD.

User Database .udf file extension: This file contains the user inputted and user defined data such as satellites, transponders, channels, favorites, switch and motor settings. The .udf file is often saved to a USB drive for backup or to edit on a PC using software such as ALI Editor or Mediabox Editor Studio. These user customized settings are part of a firmware .abs file and will be overwritten anytime a firmware update or Factory Reset is performed. .udf files are saved to and loaded via USB port or TTY/USB serial cable.
If the .udf file isn't distributed by GEOSatpro or you didn't save the .udf file from your own microHD, load with caution.

Default Database .ddf extensions are the Factory Reset defaults for the STB. These default settings are part of a firmware .abs file and will be overwritten anytime a firmware update is performed. The user may save the User Database as the new Default Database using the Channel Edit Menu in the microHD. Saving your preferred configurations, activated atellites, preprogrammed transponders and even default channel lists simplifies the set-up of the system after a Factory Reset is performed. We do not recommend editing or loading an edited .ddf file to your microHD. .ddf files are saved to and loaded via USB port or TTY/USB serial cable.
.ddf files are never distributed by GEOSATpro. If you didn't save the .ddf file from your own microHD, load this file type with extreme caution!
