Why is that disturbing? Wireless is screaming for spectrum to keep us happy, and they likely always will be. Let's see what they are proposing I would think it can coexist with Ka.

Gee, you'd almost believe they couldn't just open up another band of frequencies at random, just like all the rest that we've been using for over 100 years...

In our region, 12.2 - 12.75 is DBS/DSS, so this would primarily affect the subscription services. This would pit subscription services against subscription services. Probably prove to very interesting and expensive to bid out and relocate millions of customers on Dish, Direct, Bell, etc. (unless those services would use this bandwidth to enter or bolster their data offerings). Wouldn't surprise me when AT&T and Charlie jump on this to repurpose this spectrum.
