FiOS External Hard Drive Question

I'm helping out a friend on this one.

Is there a way to attach an external hard drive to the Motorolla QIP 6414?

It has an eSATA port on the back.

He would like to just add to the storage capacity, but he said he wouldn't mind archiving if that's all he could do.

Unfortunately, the box does not yet support external storage.
