FL DOT orders removal of Flock cameras from State roads

Them politicians are gittin nervous...Abbott in TX recently put the brakes on all of the datacenters in process down there

With enough pushback they get removed. They were in this city. Now the talk throughout the state of Arizona.
Unfortunately, they are still here ...

That said, when used the way they are meant to be used, I'm not against them ... except it looks like rarely are they used Only for how they are suppose to be used.

Are they actually removing them, or just turning them off, which means you would never know if they were turned back on in the future.
From what they are saying in local reports, they are removing them.
Walton County just voted to remove ALL of them and Calhoun County did the same yesterday.

I am not against them either as long as it has strict rules!
Walk down any street and cameras are focused on you be it a Ring Doorbell or a local business.

I think they only time they should be used is with a warrant from a judge, then it takes it out of the jealous cop who is trying to spy on his/hers spouse!
disclaimer: I havent been allowed to drive in 20 years.

Your walking in a public space..you cannot expect privacy...just like text messages over a public network..obviously they have other surveillance methods or they wouldn't be taking down the flock cameras

obviously they have other surveillance methods or they wouldn't be taking down the flock cameras
And those can be the next target for takedown

So then you already have this country tabbed as a police state- they wouldn't be taking these down unless they already had some other, even more efficacious ways of tracking the citizenry and compiling dossiers on them.

Obviously, as I have said, you're fair game for any camera in public, but then you can video the cops as well. Flock isn't about simply "taking pictures," but about storing mass amounts of data about exactly who is going where and when.

But then only those doing something wrong need be concerned, right?

Flock is about tying it all to AI...The whole taking it down conversation is a distraction...look here while we do this

As for the Ring and other brands as well, doorbells.
Those are not out LOOKING for YOU.

If your name is in the Flock database for whatever reason, they say "your Name" then it starts looking for you ....

Ring and Blink and the others don't look for specific people.

What about the phone in your pocket?
What about them ?

That says more about the Person thats too nosey for thier own good and have to video anything they can that they think might be anything, so that they can get thier Moment of Fame ...

Too many Me me me people, to Few Mind my own business people

Do you know how many cameras are out there that people never even see.
Again, now we're going to be questioning everything as never before. At least this flock business WAS brazenly visible enough to finally shake something loose in the nat'l consciousness. If we'd allow this to stand, you can bet they'd keep evolving it to be ever more surreptitious.

But that's the real base to the whole flock rejection. These "spies on a pole" are feeding data on personal movements into massive databases which AIs are to be turned loose on to dig "wrongdoers" out of the data. We're not just simply rejecting "flock cameras" here, but the whole potential ecosystem of constant and comprehensive investigation of human activities. Our AI overlords.

First datacenters, and now flock, and it turns out the 2 are linked.

I just got back from Costco .... How many Data retrieving Cameras did I just pass (Flock or otherwise) ????

Unknown, I'm sure its a Bunch ... (I could actually go the route and check) ... but I don't care ...

Now if I was a fugitive, that would matter to me.

I abide by the law for the most part, I don't panic when I pass one.
I don't like the fact they are track, but until they quit, I'm not going to Not Sleep at night.
