For poke: Nokia on brink of failure...

Accurate or not, I can't say... But Moody's and at least one analyst believe that Nokia is on the brink of failure.

As reported at The Register.

They also brought up some of the key challenges ahead for the Win8 mobile platform. An interesting read if nothing else.

I did some contract IT work for Nokia back in the summer of 2001 in the DFW area and I have to say I sometimes miss working for them. The people there were very nice.

Back in the CRT days, they made some of the best monitors around.

Just my opinion, but I think they stayed just a little bit too long on their smartphone island with Symbian.

IBM used them for a time in their coloc offerings at the turn of the millennium.

Forgot about the, but they also worked will.

Its a shame to see a company with great products fail to evolve.

Nokia was THE phone to have in the late 90s/early 00s. I still remember a few that I had. When I did contract work for Nokia the executives noticed the phone I had at the time and gave me a bunch of covers for it.
