How can I tell what major cities are with my local spot beam?

For someone who knows nothing, I looked at the sat map. How do I read it? I'm in Cincinnati...What do the color rings mean? thanks and pardon my stupidity.

the rule of thumb is spotbeams run usually a 150-200 miles. So you should be able to "move" to a neighboring city.

I'm in Cincinnati...

It would be a safe bet to say Louisville, Lexington, Indianapolis, Columbus, Dayton and Huntington WV. should be all within the spot beam. Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Chicago, Detroit and Nashville might be too far.

IIRC, the pink line is about the edge of reliable reception.
