You can do a proper recvr reset, that will reset everything, much like the proper way to shut off your computer.

Menu/Settings/ReSet/ReStart Recvr/ dash

Don't you have to reset it twice to flush the guide, since the new receivers cache it.

If you are trying to get the new HD GUI, then you can't. It does not start rollout to regular customers until 11/8, and then you will only get it when your receiver is designated for a download. Could be weeks before everyone gets it.

You have to reboot the HR twice within a half hour to flush the guide data and have new data downloaded. Works well for sluggish HRs of all models.
