Just to update a problem I had with the Merc.II.After about a year of ownership It wouldn't power scan anymore.Sent it to Don ( Fortec's tech) in Ontario for repair.Reported back to me that there was a problem in my Channel data that corrupted the tuner or processor tuner routing. The result was the tuner would not detect channels. At this point he said mine could not be repaired...so he sent me a warranty replacement receiver..after I owned it for a year..brand new..shipping paid by Fortec..How about that for service???..AWESOME..I will buy a Fortec again with customer servce like that..Passion?? maybe. Thanks Fortec.

Im very happy with my fortec mercury II, its a wonderfull receiver, I bought it after hearing many great things about fortec and Im quite happy I did. I wouldnt hesitate to buy another fortec product, hint hint passion :)

fully concur ! Make that a 4:2:2 capable passion. We see much more 4:2:2 than HD in my humble opinion.

very true, thats the reason I have a dvb tuner on the computer, more and more HD all the time it seems, but we still see more 4:2:2 then HD. and boy is alot of that 4:2:2 good quality, awesome bitrate.

But Id much rather watch 4:2:2 and HD on the 50" plasma then my 14" lcd screen on my computer, hehe.
