I picked up a .75 Meter Channel Master dish this weekend, mounted it on a superdish pole, and pointed it. It has a linear KU lnb, I actually got two of them, i adjusted polarity manually.

Part Number = 3040647
Mold Number = .75M-1

Pointed At G10R

Signal Strengths . . .

11720: high = 47 , low = 30
11744: 76
11773: 58
11800: high = 61 , low = 55
11875: 44
11905: 56
11968: 75
12034: 74

sweet :)

Did that LNB come with it or is that you added?

considering your northern location, some of those look really good for signals

Norsat are GREAT LNB's I have a few myself!

I got 2 ku lnbs and the fiberglass dish all for free. Found it on my local freecycle.

Both lnbs got about the same signal strength, i went with the norsat just because its smaller.

So far signal strengths have been much more impressive compared to my superdish. Maybe its time to get rid of that superdish (make some profit).

One question, I was thinking about mounting this dish on the roof. I would use a superdish roof mount 2 inch arm mast (also got for free this weekend). In the future i might buy a nice motorized system from one of the sponsors. WOULD that mast also work with newer type system or is it the wrong size?

If you can find one, the waveguide from a VSAT setup would let you get H and V on the same dish using both LNBs. Attached is a pic of a waveguide a salvaged from an ex-starband dish. When I put this dish back up I'll add a 2x4 multi-switch so it acts like regular LNBF.

That Channel Master dish, if it has the heavy duty CM mount , that won't work too good with the motor. I am currently building a mount for my Andrew (Channel Master) out of a Winegard 1m dish mount so I can motorize it.

But you'll find the CM will collect signal very very well (The Andrew I have is the best dish on the farm)

I wasn't thinking i would use the channel master with a motor. I just wanted to know if i waste my time mounting that dish on the roof, would that mast also be the right size for another dish with a motor.

Looks like a 2 inch mount won't be a bad idea.

I'd use the CM with a motorized setup you mentioned earlier ;) It's quite possibly the best dish out there. :) You just need to modify the mounting hardware a bit, not a difficult thing to do.

My problem is I don't have enough time! Too many FTA projects going at once.

Using a 1 meter Channel Master on G-10R (fixed), and it works very well! Mine has a Norsat LNB as well, the 11009LA, which is a high stability model. That helps with the problematic transponders like 11720 on G-10R.
