For some reason I got an email about being a valued customer and that I can get free showtime for 6 months. After the 6 months it will drop off my account and I won't be automatically billed (or so they say). Any one else get this? I tried it and it works...

I wonder if this is some type of new promotion for existing customers to stay. When I called the 800 number I got right through and the CSR said I was a valued customers. Only been a sub for 8 months. There wasn't any strings attached to the offer.

I think it's really nice that they are doing this type of marketing. So often all the new deals are for new subs. it's nice to see something for staying with them!

they gave me free showtime for 6 months when I came back to Dtv but thats all its about worth (free), I do like penn & teller's BS but when my free period is up I'm going to dump SHO and pick up Starz

I got a email similar to the OPs, except it offered a free DVR, free HD stb or 6 months showtime, however, those 2 other options would have added a 2yr commit, so I chose the showtime as well.

From the email:

Yeah but if you call the 866 number, they said they were closed for the day and to call back later. I thought it was a little odd myself.
