Freezing Hopper

Bear with me folks, as I'm new to this forum. I had a Hopper 3 installed at my house about 4 months ago. After initially working pretty well the darn thing is freezing up practically every day. I unplug the device and eventually it gets up and running again. After recent unpluggings I briefly get messages that DVR recordings are unavailable. Eventually the DVR recording do become available, but I'm tired of these interruptions. I'm a long time DISH customer and I don't want to leave, as their Picture in a Picture function enables me to watch sports while my wife enjoys shopping channels. I look forward to your ideas.

Sorry to hear about your issues.

I do have one question, though, based on your post. When sharing the PnP, does the wife's shopping show get the main picture or the insert picture?

She gets the main picture with sound. I don't need audio for my games.
