Right you are. Been down this road before. Discussed it with lots of members, too.
There is a big AMC 21 thread with 300 posts, and somewhere in the middle, I described (with some tables of numbers) how to get 2° on certain dishes.

For one work around, ya might take two dishes capable of 6° each, and interleave 'em to get the desired satellites. ;)

Given a constant F/D in the .6 to .7 range that we deal with on offset dishes, the larger the focal length, the farther apart your LNBs need to be for a given satellite spacing.
WescoPC used that to his great advantage in the following:

Cool, I can't wait to dig through those links. Right now I need to get back to writing a paper (interesting being a student again...). I did manage to grab 125 tonight with no trouble. In fact, I was nearly there from the other night. Not sure why it was so difficult.

Now that I have established the "do-ability" of this I need to move the dishes off my temp trailer tongue mount and get the cables run into the house. Now that I have PBS I need to route the AC3 audio through the home stereo...

As far as interleaving goes I guess I will do 125 & 119 (NASA), 95 & 101, and 97 & 103. Or maybe 99 and 105. Or 83 and 89. Hmmm. That should keep me busy for a while!

Sorry, since "yo no hablo espanol," and the only other thing that I know of on there is BYU, I haven't tried. I am going to leave them pointed as is until I am ready to plant a pole. When I get that set I plan to swing across the whole arc (LOS permitting) to see what I can get with this dish setup.

I took a look at Lyngsat and based on my location and the EIRP footprint I would guess it is possible. Keep in mind, though, with such a small dish I am pretty certain it will be subject to serious rain fade and may even have trouble with cloud cover. I'm doing this more as a fun experiment until I move - then I will go with bigger dishes and be more oriented to reliable viewing.

thanks guys. its just my motorized setup that has been bugging me. i can track from 72-105 with great signal but get nothing on 116 (one i really want) or 123 and 127.

Thinking now it might be LOS and might try adding a second fixed dish. I used to be able to get those birds but a lot of things have grown in the neighbors yards since the last time I had a dish up.

Does anyone make a linear LNBF with the same physical form as a DBS Legacy-style?
