I'm new to this satellite equipment topic.

I have the following dish equipment operational:

Sat n Sound 8009IR DVB receiver
ADTH 87cm KU dish
ADTH Dual Digital Ku-LNBF
Telestar 5

I want to be able to connect a 2nd independent receiver
primarily for FTA radio.

I understand that there might be options for using a dual LNB with
two coax connects. I think mine only has one.

Can anyone give me direction as to how to proceed?

Do I need to upgrade my LNB?
What function does the LNB out on the 8009IR provide?
Is my only option to have independent dish/radio unit?
Are there satellite radio's on the market that have programable receivers?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello and WELCOME to the SatelliteGuys.US FTA forum!

Not familiar with your setup but here is a link to a standard KU LNBF Dual, you only need a dual if you have two receivers and you want to watch different channels (on the same satellite)

http://www.dmsiusa.com/lnbf.htm (Just using one of these today!

FTA receivers pick up both FTA TV and Radio channels!

The LNB "out" is to hook up another receiver "in line" or slaved to the master receiver, the down side being that the 2nd receiver in line is STUCK on the same polarity as the master receiver is on!
This is often done if you have one digital (DVB) and one analog receiver!

Give us your Zip and we can give you the angles to ALL the satellites up there!
