Hey, thanks for all of your help. We are still months away from starting but i will post pictures & progress as we go. It is going to be nice to get the Fiber link installed. It is going to be our back bone for for voip, ethernet, & at least sd video. Have to try the HD. They other way i was thinking about hooking up would be having ota antenna at each building with a combiner.

Thanks
Paul Wood

For my home i have stacked winegard high gain uhf antennas on rg-11 quad, 4 analog stereo audio pico macom modulators from 4 pansat 9200's feeding the old analog tv's.

The hdtv's have their own pansat 9200's via HDMI.

How big of a dish could I mount on this Golden Oldie?

That tent is exactly what my brother (20 years old) and I (16 years old) used on our 6000-mile round trip tenting vacation to Mexico City in 1971 in our Volkswagen Beetle Automatic Stick Shift with heater stuck in the ON position. Total trip budget: $150. What was this thread about?

Yup, I have a few running one is for the PBS hd mux on 125. I picked up an gi se-1000 mpeg2 encoder that I use on the other.

But don't have an ird that's s2 with asi out.

Super fun to play with. How can you beat your own QAM headend in the basement. I guess I am a geek.

Hello,
I am trying to mount a QAM test rig in my lab and need some help with the D9477.
Already have the D9477 in standalone (using 232 console port) but can't figure out how
to use pass trough (ASI 1 to RF 1) yet, any help will be great.

Sources:
1 Tadiran TDR6 with ASI Output
2 DVB Master FD PCI ASI card.

Hello,
just to let you know that my D9477 is working great in Standalone Pass-through mode !!!
Worked fine all the time , problem was my cabling too short from MQAM to STB ... added some in line attenuators (48db) and now have SS=100 SQ=100
Thank for your help.

Awesome. Glad that's all it was. :) Its hard to pass up QAM mods for penny's on the dollar. What's better then sending HD channels around the house on just coax with no STB's. (in case camp ground)

Where do you get the ASI stream? Is this from a commercial receiver?

Yes or an encoder the one I play around with is a Motorola se1000 its only SD and mpeg2. Searching around and waiting sometimes you can pick ASI DVB receiver's up cheap sometimes around $100. I have satav's UMH160 /IP and I love it if you need DVB-S2.

Hi,sorry for digging out this thread,but i don t want open up a new one.
I got a D9477 for less and now i want do some tests with it.
As i have seen in the datasheet ,it should work in nearly all annex
A,B,C areas.
I m located in europe and so i need to use annex A for standard cable-TVs or STBs.
But can t get it to work with.
....maybe someone,can check his unit to compare functions and sw versions.
Thanks,for taking time to read.

My D9477 unit
Interleave options are as follows:
0=128,1 | 1=128,1 | 2=128,2 | 3=64,2
4=128,3 | 5=32,4 | 6=128,4 | 7=16,8
8=128,5 | 9=8,16 | 10=128,6 | 11=4,32
12=128,7 | 13=2,64 | 14=128,8 | 15=1,128
Missing ;;;"I=204 J=1" and "I=12 J=17"...confuse...because this 2 interleaver
depths are to find in the last cisco datasheet.pdf....

[davic16|davic64|davic256|itub64|itub256|ituc64|dvb128]
Have choosen davic64 ....btw. if you want choose dvb128:::
""D9477 MQAM>modmode 2 dvb128
dvb128 is not supported"""

App SW Version: V2.6.20 9/23/09 [1798]
Boot SW Version: 1.2.3 08/23/05
RF1 SW Version: 2.3 HW Mode: 0
RF2 SW Version: 2.3 HW Mode: 0
RF3 SW Version: 2.3 HW Mode: 0
RF4 SW Version: 2.3 HW Mode: 0
There was newer App SW available..V2.7.20...
but sw and any support is not to get anymore.
for cisco unit is "end of life and end of support".
Where to find software now?

I kind of understand your post. I have a D9476 that will allow DVB128 software 02.05.07

Did you reprogram to work in standalone mode?

@wallyhts:
Thanks for your answer.
My mqam is in standalone mode and for more options to programm and configure
i m using serial(crafts-)port connection and "putty"
.
About "DVB128" ,mode it is selectable,but changing to it,is not supported.
Anyway,it is not so important anymore,i got another mode to work...

Now using Qam64 + pid pass thru-mode.
Result=Lcd-tv-tuner found DTV channels(SR6887)
....but mode is restricted to ASI delievered, ts/ps-content below the 1000er PID-range.
Also, only ASI1 and RF1 can be used....non-passthru will cause encryption,correct?
