I somewhat miss the old super dish days. I felt like I died & went to heaven when they moved our locals to 110 & introduced DPP. Things were pretty sweet for a while.

Fast forward to today with the hopper/super joey setup & it's like a bad nightmare for installers.

Imo the overall quality of the work has improved a lot over the last few years. However I'm sure there are some installs with today's equipment that would easily fit in on Claude's wall of bad examples. I'd love to see them.

Some of these pics I would have never thought about unless I seen it....definitely some crazy stuff.

Sometimes you gotta put them where you can regardless of spec. I've put them on a telephone pole before although you aren't supposed to but its either let the home owner take the risk for a while of them making them take it down or they get nothing till they figure out a way to get a pole that high put in and most can't afford it.

I've ran lines air born from buildings and such before, didn't care but it worked cause you can't bury cable under a walkway or drive way. I put one on a pole right up against a drive way once. Lady called and complained to say she may hit it and I went back out and told her well treat it like there is a car there and just don't back into it. lol stupid people.

Oh yeah the DDP stuff was great prior to Hopper/joey requirements which are ignorant! They need to put the nodes built into the LNB's and stop wasting money and tech time.

Wasn't there something on here something about one of the retailer calls and the new lnb/node. Or it might have been a node with an integrator built in for SJ. Either way, as a consumer, I prefer the external node, because I can easily change the rooms my hopper and joey are in. I can't climb on my roof, as I can't climb a ladder, so a lnb node would suck for me.

With the current system regarding moca I always try to have the node as close as possible to the distribution point. Learned that the hard way.
