Yes nice indeed. I think the Coolsat 6000 and DSR9XX codes are there too, or I remember seeing them somewhere.....lol.

I've considered trying a bit of JP1 stuff but haven't committed to it. It seems that there are several variants and much of the ref material is somewhat dated. From what I can tell the "favorite son" for this stuff is the Rat Shack series of AIO remotes.

It looks like several versions of the Comcast remotes will do JP1 as well. Now every time I see ant remote at a rummage/flea market, etc. I pop the cover and look for the pins.....lol

I wonder if there are many other potential or active JP1ers on the board.

Does anyone know how I can make the codes for the G-Box V3000 I downloaded from this link above practical? I have tried to open the file but no luck. A step by step of getting this incorporated into any remote control unit will be highly appreciated.

You do realize the last post in this thread was 6 years ago, right?

Anyway, the above file works only with Remote Master software and a JP1 remote (of which there are at least 100 different models). Most cable tv universal remotes are JP1, as well as most One-for-all, including Xsight. Below are links to a list of JP1 remotes and one cable tv JP1 remote that's currently $3 shipped on ebay. You'll need a JP1 cable to connect your remote to PC/Mac/Linux and download the codes. Codes can also be entered manually in many cases. JP1 cables are around $5-$8 on ebay.

UEI, the company that makes all JP1 remotes, also makes all current Dish and DirecTV remotes. But those have no way to connect a JP1 cable without a lot of effort.

All of the above use Remote Master and the JP1 device database. Programming is similar to Harmony, consisting of activity macros, favorites, drag and drop GUI on most models. The Xsight/Nevo has several pages of additional functions/activities on an LCD display, making it very easy to use.

What remote are you trying to program? Do you still have the original Gbox remote?

Thanks for your detailed reply. Yes, I was aware of how old it was before posting. As I didn't know the right terminology to use to accurately describe JP1, I played it safe by quoting the OP. I'm trying to program the G-Box V3000 remote into the Harmony 550 remote. The original G-Box V3000 remote was broken beyond repair, therefore I couldn't pair it with the Harmony 550. To make matters worse Harmony doesn't have the codes in their database.

You've got a couple of options.

- You can add the codes manually, without using a JP1 cable on the following remotes:

- You can add load the subject device upgrade file into any other JP1 remote, the cheapest of which is the one I already posted ($3), plus you'll need a JP1.3 cable ($5 for serial version, $8 for USB from ebay)

- You can email the pronto hex codes (posted below) to datasupport@logitech.com and have them added to your account, possibly for free. There is a more complex way to import pronto hex yourself using Concordance, but I was never able to get that to work.

Based on the wealth of information you've just provided, I'm inclined to go with the options on your last post above. I will email the codes to Logitech as you suggested hoping they add it to my account. I will pick up one of the URC remotes you listed in case Logitech fails to grant my request to add the codes. Any favorite of yours from the list that you can suggest I take a closer look at?

I think all the ones I listed are European models. So I've never even seen them and wouldn't know where to get one. If you can post some pics or links to manuals, I can help you decide. Doesn't really matter though. You're only using them to shoot a few codes, which all can do equally well, then will never touch them again.

EDIT: I Googled all of them and have comments below. Keep in mind all will work for your purposes, but if you're looking to replace your 550 with one of them, here's what I think:

URC-7555 (ok)
URC-7780 Stealth 12 (awesome. If you find a US source, get me one too!)
URC-7781 Digital 12 (awesome. If you find a US source, get me one too!)
URC-7940 (insult to all remotes)
URC-7950 (insult to all remotes)

URC-8350 (ok but ugly)

Mdavej, They've added the codes you provided here for the PowerTech/SatHawk GBOX-V3000 to the Logitech Harmony Database!!! I just got the following email reply from Logitech support! I redacted names from the email for privacy purposes. I will test and report back to them later.

I have come to a dead end testing my GBOX V3000 remote control codes that were just added to my Logitech Harmony 550 in order to operate my G-Box V3000 Actuator Mover. After about 2hrs of testing and getting the same results, I tried "To operate from the front panel push buttons**" and to my disappointment the GBOX- V3000 Mover Unit didn't respond even to step no.1 of the instructions** below. This leads me to conclude that my GBox Actuator Mover maybe bad, but the Codes loaded on the Logitech Harmony 550 remote work fine. I have a simple request for anyone that owns a working GBox V3000 mover to just try the "Manual" step listed below "To operate from the front panel push buttons" and let me know if the process works on your unit. You don't even have to complete all three steps. Step no. 1 is good enough for me to confirm.

Here are the results of my tests.

POWER: On/Off Works fine

0 - 9 numeric keys: Work fine

ESC: Works fine

OK: Works fine

Resync: Doesn't work

Store: Doesn't work

Recall: Works fine

Name: Doesn't work

Reset: Doesn't work (Flashes the number "10" very quickly but doesn't continue counting down to "1" to reset the unit.)


** To operate from the front panel push buttons

1. Move the actuator East/West with the 3 and 4
buttons to the desired position. Press and hold the
power button for 5 seconds, and the display will
show ”C--_ _”.
2. Press the 3MANUAL4 buttons to scroll through
the position numbers on the display (1-99) and to
choose the satellite positions you want to store.
3. Within 2 seconds, press the “POWER” button for confirmation. The LED
will show the number you choose. (for example, “P03”)

Edit: I would like to have your feedbacks, so not to border Logitech support without making sure those issues are only isolated to me.

For those who own a GBOX V3000 unit and Logitech Harmony remote. You can download the Codes from Logictech in order to have a backup of your original GBOX RCU, by logging into your Account >Device Setup, from the drop down choose "Cable/Satellite Box" and then "Satellite". Under "Manufacturer" choose "SatHawk". Under "Model" type GBOX V3000 and follow prompts to complete the setup. Any feedback will be appreciated.

I don't even know what a GBOX is, but I can confirm that my posted codes match the original poster's JP1 codes. But it could be that the timing is a little different than the standard. Here is a new set of codes with slightly different timing. Give those a try. You could also try changing the repeats up or down in the Harmony software. Failing that, try to contact the original poster to see if the codes work for him or if he has any corrections.
