The 4DTV must have been activated for service to receive the FTA channels. The 4DTV does not have blind search, but it will receive many additional channels that cannot be viewed with MPEG2 receivers like the Fortec Ultra or Pansat 2500a.

I found my 922 used on EBAY for $250.
Keep in mind that you have to have a C-band dish to utilize this.

Or if you like new stuff....

Will the FTA come in automatically on the 4DTV? What about the SR’s?

Thanks…..

How do you define FTA on the 4DTV?
Analog, in-the-clear, Videocipher in Free Preview (FP) or unscrambled (ZK) dc2 channels?

For analog and Videocipher, as long as you have a Videocipher module installed, you have nothing to do for it to work.
For unscrambled dc2, if the receiver has never been authorized in the past, you'll have to get it authorized. Most providers will do this as a courtesy for you, if you ask them.
