It is not the Networks that have a issue, it is the affiliates.

DirecTV already has a deal with Fox, NBC and now, CBS, to be a part of genre packs, but that is largely O&O Stations.

Lets see some evidence to backup that claim. Do you really think DIRECTV asked the networks that they only wanted the O&O locals?

But DirecTV is not streaming only, so they cannot just make the deals with the networks alone.

Since YTTV is, for one example, streaming only, they can avoid dealing with the affiliates.

By the way, the affiliates are trying to change that.

This may be their undoing. I'm guessing DISH didn't make that choice when negotiating Sling carriage contracts.

Aren't the Sling locals just O&O channels too? And Sling doesn't have any CBS or CW locals. All of my locals are not O&O channels and none are available via Sling. It appears Sling is falling into the same category as the DIRECTV Genre packages as far as locals go. They would have to deal with the affiliates just like DIRECTV has to.

I'm most likely going to sign up for this and toss my streaming package with Spectrum. This is a much better deal to cover all the sports networks I actually watch. Locals aren't included in my market yet, but I can get all of that OTA so it's still a good deal for me.

direct has always come out cheaper than spectrum for us!!! spectrum can't match dtv's pricing we get or they just won't. my thoughts is they just won't

My Entertainment pack is better than Sling if you want just the news channels and have ota. My news is good if you want some locals and Newsmax too. This may be the death for Sling.

i wouldn't sub to sling.. not knowing weather dish is going to file a bk now or not!!! and if sling don't work good luck at getting any kinds of credits for down time. it's in there terms it's a prepaid service and no refunds. so charlies so cheap that he won't credit customers for not receiving services they paid for. they deserve to sink!!! things are not looking good for boost either!!! i have a feeling there gonna file a bk but there just holding off...

What impact does the finances of a company have to do with suitability for your uses?

It isn't like you're entering into a twelve or 24-month commitment just for upgrading your hardware.

It is not listed as included with that package.

The shop website isn't always up to date, like it took several weeks for them to list MeTV Toons as part of MyKids, and the MyFreeTV section is full of outdated listings like the defunct Meateater, Origin Sports, OZ TV and TIME channels.

It shows up on the app or online player if you login with a streaming account and says it's available with MyNews when you click "Upgrade to watch". It also appears in the MyNews lineup on some platforms that allow subscribing to the genre packs from within the app like Roku.
