I have a CK-1 lnbf and can't get the signal on the ku side to go up from 45 on an S9. No quality.
How would one find out if the ku side of the lnbf is any good? Cband side working good. Tried
adjusting the lnbf, and no improvement. Any help appreciated.

What kind of dish are you using?

Do you have a KU Band LNBF that you could hand-hold in place of the CK1 feedhorn? Remove the CK1 from the scalar and hold a regular LMNF in its place to determine if the dish is tracking KU properly.

C-band signals are much more forgiving on alignment than KU. The dish may be tracking the C-band satellites adequately, but with KU, the dish aiming is hyper critical.
