I just got off the phone with Dish. I was trying to upgrade a 211 to a 722 and they said that I couldnt because it hasn't been a year since my last upgrade. I think this is crap. Is there anyway to get dish to allow me to upgrade?

nope if you want the other receiver you have to Pay FULL price for it.they only allow one DISH IT UP per year.

Why is it crap. Why should you be special when everyone had to wait to uprade?

I don't know why DISH is such a stickler on this either. Especially now when they can lock you in to 2 years. A lot of things change in a year. I myself would like to upgrade my 2 622'2 to 2 722's but I have to wait till August to do so. They also need to change the 4 tuner lease fee to 6 at least. So, I agree it is crap and DISH should be more flexible with customers who want to upgrade. It certainly would benefit them to do so as long as the upgrades are within reason.

Yes! There is a way. Speak to an account specialist.

I was in a similar situation as you. I had leased a VIP 622 last year and I also have a leased 625 on my account. I called up dish and asked them if I could do a DIU by returning the 625 and leasing 2 VIP 211's (bedroom and guestroom). CSR told me that I had to wait till Sept of this year to another DIU since I did the 622 last Sept. She said the only option for me was to buy the 211's @ $299.99 each.
I told her if I have to do that I'd rather close my account even though I had about 15 months left in my contract and it will work out to a much cheaper amount than buying the 211. I was transfered to an Account Specialist and I repeated the same thing to the lady. She said that she will be able to override and allow me to return the 625 and lease 2 211's.

Good Luck!
