Will i see that Dish now has a fox problem out in the Midwest. At this time they will no longer carry the fox midwest channel with the Saint Louis blues hockey. So lets see what we now have with Dish network. NO ( NFL,MLB, and NOW NOW NO Blues hockey.OH:confused:i Forgot they are a cheaper family company.FAMILY:eek: you can now get the HUSTLER IN HD. I guess that is a better way to spend your time .;):D

No Poison Here

You pick your poison with either company.

I can't believe I am saying this, but actually believe it or not, in Western New York, TWC is now the Leader in HD Programing. 100 Channels available in HD. Vs and MSG in HD for the Hockey Fans. YES, MLB-HD and MLB Extra Innings for the Baseball Fans. ESPN-U in HD, CBS College Sports HD & Big Ten HD for College Football Fans. Plus they actually got a pretty good selection of VOD and their start over feature is pretty kewl.

Only thing lacking is NFL Network and Dish Network's expertise on HD Receivers. So until Dish can work agreements with MSG and YES, I guess for the time being I am gonna have to stick with TWC.

Big Ten Network HD for College Football Fans.

Too bad they don't have BTN overflow channels in HD. And what about NFL Sunday Ticket?

I thought this was a satellite forum, this sounds more like TWC spam.

Dish/Directv is not the issue with MSG. That is the NHL and Cablevision Owners the Dolans

Nothing is wrong with stating a cable co has more HD programming. There are cable boards here for a reason.

At the time Dish is better with national HD, but I am happy with my sports experience on D*. BTNHD channels alone make it worth it, but 24/7 RSNs are a bonus, NFL ST, etc. make it much better

Why's this site called Satellite Guys then? Wouldn't Television Guys be a better name?
the main focus of this site is satellite television, but many people here have satellite in addition to cable, or now have cable. there are 800 people viewing the dish network forum compared to the 10 in the cable areas.

Well my problem with DirecTV is that they have some channels in HD and not in SD like Starz Family and Starz Comedy in my Starz SD Movie Package. Then I also can't understand why DirecTV does not have The Hallmark Movie Channel in SD or HD?.

DirecTV used to have alot more national basic channels than Dish and in a way they still do but because of these channels they are missing it's getting harder for me to stay with DirecTV when my family wants me to switch to Dish to get these channels.I have emailed a complaint to DirecTV and told them I really like DirecTV,but I can't wait forever on these channels plus I will not pay $10. more for SD programming that I should be getting anyways in my Starz Movie package.

Well, I for one have enjoyed the HD feed of Hallmark Movie Channel, MSNBC, Travel Channel, and the Cubs and White Sox games on WGNHD. I'm sure Directv will catch up once they get their new sat up, but that's what they promised with D11, so we'll see.

D10 had spotbeam issues so D11 had to make up the difference as for Dish HD I won't pay them $10. extra either when I can use that money for more SD programming(I'm on a fixed income).;)

It is not spam. I switched from Dish this summer (after six years) basically for two reasons. Buffalo Sabres games in HD and the Yankees. Two things Dish wasn't gonna give me right now.

Truthfully, in my market, we have 3-4 cbs & fox network games on the Sunday, plus the nbc game and espn game on monday night, along with the espn regular nfl coverage. I can live without the nfl season ticket and the nfl network.

Do you really need BTN overflow games? There are like 10-15 college games today along on with what I get.

BTW, if Directv did have Versus and was to give me the HD Receivers for no upfront fees, I would most likely switch. Hell, Dish is offering three hd receivers for no upfront money, reinstall me free and give me $20 off a month for a year, just to come back after being gone less than 2 months. For now I will stick with what I got until most likely E* gets MSG-HD and Yes.

Not a spam, just the truth.:)

The main difference here is though, Directv has MSG-B (Buffalo Sabres)in HD for the Buffalo NY DMA. If E* did, I would have most likely forsaked the YES Network and stayed with Dish.

The Directv - Versus fight gives me absolutely no motivation to have Directv right now. Buffalo will be on 7 or 8 of those Versus games this year. Plus, the way things are going at Directv, makes you wonder what is the next channel Directv they are gonna fight with and end up pulling from their lineup.

If you recall when Dish fought with Viacom and TWC fought with the Lin Owned local stations (WIVB-CBS in Buffalo - main station for the Buffalo Bills games), mainly subs left for other providers.

The competition is great for us consumers, because for once we can pit one provider against another, and demand proper service, etc. I can't wait until FIOS has complete service availibility in the WNY area, to give all the providers something to think about when they just dump channels for their benefit, without considering their subscribers. If Directv and Dish didn't require 24 month contracts, do you think they would just uneventfully pull a channel from their lineup, without considering the affect on their subscriber base?
