I just got DirecTV satellite. What should I expect?

I know that anytime a new pice of hardware is introduced into the system it's a new 2 year contract even if it's a downgrade. There not giving the hr-54 any longer it's only for subs needing replacement. There only offering the genie 2 now

If you do a self install of a Gemini it is a 1 year contract. If they send a tech out to install it, it is a 2 year contract.

True he wanted an hr 54 I believe so he could use older boxes I don't know why

For US, DTV Satellite has been it for YEARS. I recently check their streaming with 3 first generation Gemini's with Ultimate Pkg + Regional Sports and there is no price difference. I am have been receiving Perks/Promotions from them every year. We will see in December, if they will come through with renewable promotion. We love DTV.

TDS recently installed their fiber and their similar package and could save a little money, as new customer with 2 yr price. I might take a run down to their local office for more info. I had been in touch with one of their website CS mgr, via e-mail. She answered all my questions with itemized list, last month.
