There's a member here that's offering to sell his (211k). I'll likely buy his. Would still love to know if Dish will activate it without sending someone "to change the cable" though... <sigh>
They don't for personally owned equipment. Install it, call to have it activated. Deactivate old receiver.
Why would anyone even offer that when it's not necessary, unless there are known problems with the cabling. Like ChadT41 said, just buy the receiver, install it call to have it activated, but personally, I think it's in your best interest to have a tech out and check over everything based on how the install is there
