When one of my kids was in 7th grade I gave her science teacher D500 he used it to heat his lunch and cook a burger durring his lunch break, it worked so well he asked for a super dish covered it with mylar placed a platform at the end of the arm and can now cook 2 burgers or a box of Mac and cheese.
FWIW the WildBlue dishes make better bird baths. They are bigger, the mount is more adjustable, and configuring them as a bird bath transforms them from almost useless to useful*

amateur radio ops uses 10 foot dishes to bounce signals off the moon back to earth for communications.

This is one thing I do with old dishes, I just spray paint targets on them and off to the river I go. I do bring them back home to the recycle bin.

That's Laux Beta 9 installed some of those. Good C/Ku dishes but pretty heavy. Excellent Gazebo.

It's not a dish.. But it is the mount.. Customer said it was strong.. But I wasn't about to touch it..
