I saw some old threads a few days ago on it. To me it looked like a cross between a 622, 322 and a 722I believe so, but my rememberer ain't what it used to be.
Wow. Since it had HDMI im guessing it can do both mpeg2 and mpeg4 like the vips? Im probably wrongI liked my 942. Kept it until mega4 forced a change
Dang that sucksThis was the issue. . It did not support mpeg 4 and thus essentially became a brick
I liked mine, but the ViP 722 was even better (faster) and had an optional ATSC Tuner module available. Also we're the 942 recievers bad when they came out?
I was thinking since spotbeam 26non 110°W is still mpeg2 would an 811 be able to pick that up and get data so I could use the ota feature on it?I liked mine, but the ViP 722 was even better (faster) and had an optional ATSC Tuner module available.
And, like was mentioned, the ViP models had MPEG4 necessary for the new HD channels.
I'm not sure what software the 811 is running and whether it would allow OTA access without an account, but it "should" work. I was surprised this year when we got to our vacation home and I couldn't access the DVR content on the ViP 211k receiver before the account had been reactivated. But I was still able to use the 211k's OTA tuner to watch the local stations.I was thinking since spotbeam 26non 110°W is still mpeg2 would an 811 be able to pick that up and get data so I could use the ota feature on it?
My 612 is kinda bypassed to record things like free previews and the shopping networks by tuning to for example hsn2 then pressing info then search then record and it does it pretty wellI'm not sure what software the 811 is running and whether it would allow OTA access without an account, but it "should" work.
