That looks very cool! Cross between a scientific atlanta explorer, a dvd player and dish reciever. Im guessing that's not a prototype?
I loved the 942 dvrs. I had two of them back then and they worked very well. Then they did away with them. They had name based recording and worked great with mpeg 2. The 921 pvr was a nightmare for me and so was the 811 HD receiver. Kept both of them on a surge protector so I could flip the switch and reboot them daily because it was needed. But the VIP receivers are pretty much outdated now and they don't install them anymore.I saw some old threads a few days ago on it. To me it looked like a cross between a 622, 322 and a 722

Lol I could have sworn they released it but I guess not!!! There was alot of buzz going on at the time about. The msrp was 399.99It's just a prototype, it was never released. They came very close to releasing it, but by the time it was ready the price of DVD players had dropped considerably and they weren't able to produce it at a competitive price point. I think I remember some of the remotes ended up on ebay.
Yep I like the jvc unit better as far as looks lol that thing looks like a cheap gpx boom box you would find in rite aid lolThat looks very cool! Cross between a scientific atlanta explorer, a dvd player and dish reciever. Im guessing that's not a prototype?

back in the old rear projection daysWow. Yes.
#1 I dont stream anything except youtube. #2 I hate the plain flat ui on the newer recievers being the H3. #3 doesn't have built in ota and only runs off dpH. Older technology is usually built like tanks. Also if there was a way to have at least my hopper 2 on old software (ui) from about 2016 or when before the updates i would use that a lotit looks like it would fall apart LOL!!! so whats so bad about the hopper 3??? i like the fact i can run all of my smart home devices with it love the voice commands

the one i remeber was a rear projection set and it was an RCANo, they were selling two different HD TVs. I believe one was a CRT and the other an LCD? I want to say it was a 34" widescreen CRT and a 42" LCD. It was around that time even Gateway Computer stores were getting in on the HDTV action.
